Hoping to reach someone here that helps with the Book Data Editing:

ISBN-10: 089051111X

Picture is correct, but the title and author are wrong. Sites such as Amazon have the correct title/author.

The title should be:  Creation and the Modern Christian.  Author should be:  Henry M. Morris

Number of Pages:  298

I was going to post this book and submit the changes necessary, but see that someone has wishlisted this and have no idea which book this person wants, is expecting to get.

Besides someone correcting the data, can someone at PBS contact the person that has it on their Wish List and find out if they are wanting The Christmas Story by Margaret Riedel or Creation and the Modern Christian by Henry M. Morris?

You can submit the changes if you know how to do so; looking the book up on Amazon, your info seems to be correct. It may take a few days for the changes to appear. As far as the wisher, I think you just have to post the book and then perhaps have a conversation with them to make sure it is the book they thought it was before you send it along.

I'll make the changes and then will probably have to send the wisher a p.m.  Thanks.

Actually, I'll wait until PBS has made the changes I just submitted before posting the book.  (After seeing the question about the title and author matching, as well as the ISBN).

It is best to submit the changes and let the data edit approvers check it out before posting the book. Requests for title changes are not easy to get approved, and may or may not fly. Sometimes publishers re-use ISBNs for completely different book titles and authors, so it is entirely possible that more than one book title can a given ISBN, and PBS is strictly designed to have a unique title for every ISBN. A data edit approver will evaluate requests for title and/or author changes and may contact you either to request additional information or explain why the changes cannot be made.

If the data edit does not get approved, you can always post the book without an ISBN. (There's a link for "Post a Book Without an ISBN" in the yellow bar on the Post Books page.)  Many books get posted and requested without using an ISBN, even if they actually have one. In cases like this you can include the ISBN in the Book Description when posting.  If it is a wish-listed book, I believe the wishing member will be notified by PBS in an email that a similar book has been posted to the system, but it won't show up as a wish list offer on their My Account page when logging in, and if the book is on auto-request it will not be automatically requested if it has a different ISBN. (Books posted without an ISBN are assigned a unique 6-digit number in the ISBN field by PBS to identify it, often referred to by members as a "short ISBN".)

Hope this helps.

Thanks Chris.  It sounds like it may take a long while before they making any decisions on any of the changes I submitted.  I'll just wait it out before trying to post it w/o an ISBN#.

I was surprised to receive a message today from the Data Edit team.  Apparently, the ISBN# was used twice by the publisher, so PBS is leaving the title, author, etc. as it shows now.  I was advised to list the book I have with the other title with a customized listing without the ISBN, which I will do.

I did ask the person if they should remove the picture (on the ISBN) as it is of the different title and author.  ETA that they then said that was in the works, but would take a few weeks since a site data edit had just recently been done.

Yes, you will want to wait until data has been corrected.  Do not post the book unless the required data matches.  I've done this and the transaction eventually went smoothly.

Unless, the ISBN has been reused (as is apparently the case here).  PBS admin leaves those to the first book posted under the ISBN and will not change the info later...the other ISBN must be posted with a short/custom ISBN as Gordon mentioned.
