Okay, I don't see how *this* post is any different than saying on the HS forum that you have a deal.  Both take up thread space in the forum.  If the person who was so concerned about deals not being posted was concerned about that, then why not this one????  (I'm *not* picking on you, Melita.)

According to what I understand these are ok Just barely ok. Actually a better way to do it would be to say Check out my Shelf oh by the way I am also running a deal. But actually posting the deal isn't. I don't under stand the difference either. But Oh well. I also wish that we could Just post. I think that it was a few folks abusing it that Got it removed. I also think that they aare taking a hard line so that it doesn't have the possability to become an issue. I did contact the Librarians and offer to Maintain a sticky thread for posting deals in this forum. they said that it was being taken under consideration.

I Really do hope that we can get one.

Girls,

as I posted in the other deal thread, I too have contacted the founders and they know this is an issue for us.   For now, they have asked that all deals be kept in the BB....hence the reason I started the Homeschool Deals thread over there.  Please add it to your Watched Topics so you don't have to go looking for it if it drops off the 1st page.  For now, I don't know what else we can do.

Really, this type of post isn't any diffferent than posting a deal here in the HS forum (again, like JC, NOT picking on you Melita....  :)).  There is no difference.   But so that we're following the rules, we really need to keep them either in the BB or in our siggie lines.  You can even post them in the BB -->Homeschool Deals thread, AND put a note with a link to that thread in your sig line.  That way it makes it easy for all!  :)

Hi Everyone, Just to start out the deal was until friday 2/29, (my typo) but if you see something you like let me know( I''m sure my bookshelf is old news now lol)  As far as the post I'm reallllllly confused.  I really want to to have the rules clear and followed (by everyong ie: childrens/teachers forum etc).  I thought this was the way to do it, but after reading all the posts over the last week or so, now I'm not sure.  Later I posted it under the Homeschool Deals thread  in BB.  I noticed that the Chic Lit forum has a tread at the top of their posts just for deals.  Anyway when they get it all figure out I hope they let us know and I hope they inforce the rule across the board.  For now if I have a deal I am just going to put it on the Homeschool thread in BB.  By the way there is now offence taken. Melita

By the way Whats a Sticky??

Melita, a sticky would be a RED thread that stays at the top of the forum....like in the BB, there is the Unpostable's tread that Bernie manages and it stays at the top of the forum all the time and can't be bumped.  That is what we would like to have here.

ETA:  I'm not sure exactly WHY the Chic Lit area has been given a red sticky at the top for deals...I agree it is contradictory and confusing.  However, they know we want to have one and are taking it under consideration...hopefully they will give it to us.

Thanks Amanda, Now I know that the two are one in the same.  I wonder how long they need to think about it, especially when it seems like the best solution.

This looks like a good thread to post that I added a deal to the "Homeschool Deals" thread on Book Bazaar.  :)  Until we can get a sticky thread on the Bazaar or on this Homeschool Forum--keep posting in that "Homeschool Deals" thread to keep it alive!  (And if our deals happen to show up in our signatures in the meantime, so be it...)

It's fun to find so many homeschoolers stocking their shelves and swapping books!
