I ordered about 5 books from them,  I paid 3.99 each and I thought it was a great deal. Now I go back and they are not that cheap anymore. I bought Wild Card for 3.99 and now it's 7.51. When I was ordering the first time a lot of books were 3.99 and now I can't find any, does anyone know if their prices go up and down?

Yeah, I've noticed that too - that the prices change frequently. One of the books I bought went from$6 and change to over $10.  I'm not sure why they change, but I think it's a case of - if you find them cheap there, order them, cause the price may change any day.

I'm not familiar with that website-but it could go up and down based on where they are getting the books.

I received Heat Seeker from BD today. I paid 3.99 for it plus a $.12 foreign transaction charge imposed by Citibank. BTW, this book was printed in the U.S. and was shipped from Britain (royal postage).

Frankly, I couldn't figure out how they could sell books at $3.99 and offer free shipping to the U.S. Right now, the dollar compares weakly to the British pound. A'zon.uk is charging £5.99, but BD gets only £2.42 when we pay $3.99. Add to that int'l postage (free to customer) and the cost of buying/importing the book from USA to Britain...

I think maybe they finally figured out they were losing money. Not a win-win, eh?

Thankful for the windfall while it lasted.

Colleen

I thought I got a good deal - 3 mmp romances & 3 craft books, which were all (the craft books) in the $15-$20 range at Amazon, for just under $50 total.  It took 12 days for me to get 4 of them, which wasn't so bad.  The last two, I'm hoping, should get here by the end of the week - we''ll see.  I dunno if I'm going to bother with shopping them for my mmps from now on, it just depends.  If it's $3.99 there & $6.99 - $7.99 at Borders - and I'm not in a big rush to get it - maybe.  I will probably order more craft books from there though.  As long as they can undercut the price I can get them for locally anyway.

Yeah I also thought about them not making any money, but I guess if I see them at 3.99 I'll buy them or a little more but I get coupons for borders all the time so it might not be worth it unless I get a really good sale.

I am so glad you brought this up because each time I have looked at the site I found that the prices were cheaper other places and I was confused because I kept hearing how awesome the site was with cheaper prices and free shipping.  I gave up and just want to a brick and mortar store yesterday.  lol, like everyone here, I went for one book to get with a Visa gift card and came out with 6 books adding $36 of my own money to the total.  I am excited though because I got Twenties Girl and Dan Brown's newest book, plus others.  Now I just need to add about 5 hours to my day so I can read them all.

Sorry to kind of "hijack" the Book Depository thread... but I just got my Book Closeouts e-mail, and  right now they're having a pretty good "scratch & dent" clearance sale... maybe you'll be able to find something on there too?  (Just thought I'd share it!)  ;)   Never such a thing as a bad book sale...
