I had a request for one of my books that I had to decline.  There was slight wear on the spine and the requestor wanted a book with no cover damage.  But....now that I declined the request.... the book is not on my bookshelf any longer.

It is most certainly a postable book, I just didn't feel comfortable sending it when the requestor had such a specific condition.

Should I repost the book?  Or will it show back up on my bookshelf eventually?  I hope that this all makes sense.  Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking that this is a glitch and that you may want to send in feedback.  I believe that if you indicate you cannot send because the book does not meet requestor conditions, then the book automatically goes back to your shelf.  It's only if you indicate you cannot send for another reason that it's removed from your shelf.  Here's something from the Help Center:

  • If a sender declines by clicking does not meet conditions
    • That book does not lose its place in the "FIFO" line
    • It simply goes back into its previous place
  • If a sender declines by clicking cannot send for other reasons
    • This is just like a regular book request decline:
      • The book is removed from the sender's bookshelf

Did you accept the request and then cancel it?  That could be why. If you cancel an accepted book request it assumes you cannot send the book at all.

This is why I never accept with conditions and PM the recipient.   If I have any doubts, I just click cannot send due to conditions.  Otherwise this sort of thing happens.

Did you check your reminder list? I had the same situation and somehow that is where the book ended up.
