A while ago I got a wish list offer which was turned down for the RC. The book was no longer listed as available so I assumed someone took that copy and I added it back to my wish list. it's now been returned to my remainder list 3 times but there are still zero copies in the system. I assume the same person keeps relisting it then removing it, since I haven't gotten wish list offers. Since it's the only copy I don't get why they don't just leave it listed so I don't have to keep adding this book to my wishlist every couple of days? or does this sound like some other kind of bug?

If it was the same person re-listing it, and you don't have emails disabled, you would get an email stating that you were being moved to the RL because they have turned down your RC. The system won't allow you to be the only wisher for a book after they've turned you down. If you do have that kind of email disabled, that's what I'd assume is going on.

I've had the same problem recently with a book that I was the only wisher for. I kept getting shuffled off to the RL because the same person relisted the book.

The system defaults to letting their book be offered so that people can get the book, it doesn't default to letting the wisher who has RCs keep wishing for it and the sender waiting until that wish has been granted before they can offer a book that is postable and available for order immediately.

I think the system is telling you there are 0 copies available when the book is still posted. It is telling you there are 0 copies available because the copy listed does not meet your RC therefore it is not a copy available to you as long as your RC is turn on. You should wait a while and let that copy be requested before re-wishing. I am sure the person who has the book posted is just as frustrated as you are that they have to keep turning down your RC.

I tried logging out and while logged out it shows there are NO copies available (and it will show you if there are copies while logged out, I picked a random popular author and it showed several books as available). Every other time I was the only wisher it showed copies in the system and I had to wait to put it back on the wishlist. This one never shows any copies (even when logged out, so it's not just hiding a copy I already couldn't get) and keeps letting me add it to my wishlist and then a couple days later it will be removed without another wishlist offer. I don't have auto request on so it's only been offered and rejected once. That is the part that is confusing me and why I'm wondering if this person listed it, removed it, then relisted it, then removed it again.... because if there was a copy it would show when I was logged out even if it couldn't be offered to me. Or maybe he listed it and someone requested it and then the order had to be cancelled for some reason. I don't know? But I've never had this happen before when I was the only wisher. It showed a copy and I just had to wait those times...

Does that make more sense why I am confused now?

When this happened to me, I was told that because I was the only wisher and the owner of the book had turned down my RC, I would have to stay on the Reminder List until this copy was taken by someone else or another copy was listed.  If the only copy listed is the one turned down for your RC, you will not be able to keep it on your Wish List.

It's also possible that different people are posting the book and then turning down your RC.  If you aren't gettting any emails about it-check the club communications. Everything they send you should be there.

If it's not on auto-request it might be a glitch? Someone correct me if I'm wrong (all of my WL is on auto) but doesn't Rebecca have to accept the WL offer before the other person can cancel it?

I've had this happen recently, but from the other end. I have the single listed copy of a book. I'm pretty sure the same person has requested it about 4 times now. The same RC with the same wording. I've had to turn it down each time. But I don't have to relist the book. When I turn he RC down it says that my book will be returned to it's place in the FIFO line. Which, since it's the only one, is first.

Yeah, when this has happened in the past, it showed the copy in the system and did not let me put it back on my wishlist until that copy was gone. This book never shows any copies available, whether I'm logged in or logged out. That's why it seemed odd to me. I wish listed it again today after confirming there were NO copies listed while logged out. Hopefully it sticks this time....
