I was playing around with the Book List Import Bookmark. It bothered me a bit that it wouldn't load any ISBN that had an X in the number. Since I'm teaching myself programming (including JavaScript), I thought I'd take a look. I found the problem.

Part of the code says:

d=e[b].replace(/[^0-9]/g, '').replace(/^\s*|\s*$/g,'');

It needs to be changed to:

d=e[b].replace(/[^0-9xX]/g, '').replace(/^\s*|\s*$/g,'');

I know there are some people on this forum who use the feature, so I thought I'd make it available.

Please, Tim, send this in as a feedback so that the programmers get it. I would love to be able to use it for ALL my books, not just those that don't have an X

I will, eventually. I want to see if I can figure out why it only loads every other line when loading from a text file first.

Also, even if the programmers fix it, it won't affect anyone that has already created the bookmark. It will have to be changed manually or replaced. So, I figured I'd post the change and let people try it out before sending in the feedback.

Uh, I think the title of this thread should be "Greek spoken here".

Julie - No not Greek, GEEK.  :)

Kerry (Who sadly admits to sort of understanding the Geek.  14 years with my geek DH is starting to rub off)

Just like it says in the Bible. "The Geek shall inherit the earth." Unfortunately, there was a misprint.
