I just finished the best book that I have read in a L-O-N-G time and it makes me feel so happy. It is called the Book of Lost things. Unfortunately, I got it from the library but it was interesting and very magic and leaves me with much hope for the future and I hope many of you can get it from the library. It was although horrible and gross, beatiful and loving and it made me weep at the ending.

I liked The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly a lot too. Very original and intriguing story. Sort of an adult fairy tale.

All lost things are found again.

It's on my short list for 'book of the year' of what I've read.....

you can find some great recommendations on that thread that I started about what is your book of month/year....I know I have gotten lots of good reads from suggestions there!

Huh.   I read perhaps the first two chapters, and I lost interest.

Maybe I'll have to give it another try.

I really enjoyed it too. It's about a youngish boy, but is definitely not a "children's" story...some pretty violent bits in there. But very intriguing and well-done.

Reminded me a lot of the Inkheart series.
