I just had a book I mailed marked RWP - not meeting requestor's conditions.   She says I promised her a 2 for 1 deal --- however, she must have me confused with someone else as I have never posted any offers to do a 2 or 1 deal.  I wouldn't even know how or where to post deals.  I have seen some people do that in their sig lines but I don't have a sig line set up.  I looked back through my PM"s and there is no message from her that would have indicated what book she had expected to receive for free ---- or any other communication.  If she had put RC's about receiving a free book, I am sure I would have noticed it.  Is there any way to see if she has a RC requiring a free book ?

I really think she confused me with someone else but now I have a almost new hardback book marked RWP when it should have been.  I am wondering if she thought she was ordering from someone who had a 2 for 1 and then because of FIFO, the book was ordered from me instead.  But that still would not explain her not communicating at the time about what 2nd book she was expecting.

Should I be concerned about the RWP?  I have traded lots of books and this is only the 2nd time I have gotten a RWP.

I am just so confused about how this could happend.  Thanks, Jane

Hi, Jane! Jane here to help you! :D

OK, the member mistakenly ordered from FIFO instead of directly from the member's bookshelf, or the member who offered the deal could not meet her conditions so she ended up at FIFO instead. Either way, she should have a record of the PM that she sent the member, or the name of the member from the post in the Bazaar. (Hopefully the member posted to the thread with the offer, so the name is easier to find.) Either way, if you never offered the deal in the Bazaar (another forum search would verify this) the error is on the requestor's side.

Now the member can clear your transaction by going to her archive and choosing "No problem" or "Marked RWAP in error" or something like that. Go to the transaction archive and have her click "Was the problem resolved?" and choose the option to clear the RWAP.

Hope this helps!

You're welcome! If the member still isn't convinced, you could report the problem using the "Contact Us" link. But I think once she checks her archives and the message boards she'll find her error and fix the problem on her own.

I just did a search by member nickname and found where she did order the book plus another book from a different member in book bazaar - on a 2 for 1 deal - that member just wasn't me even though the book is the same book.  It must have gone FIFO which is how I ended up with the order.  If she searches and looks at the name of the member in Book Bazaar maybe she will see that I don't owe her another book.

You can also contact PBS w/the story of what happened so they have it on record that you don't deserve this RWP.  This is her mistake not yours.

When you PM her, do it from your transaction archive so that all your communication with her is attached to the transaction.  That way, if there's ever a question about it, the information will be right there.  You'll be able to see it by clicking on "request details" in your archive.

Even if the orderer hadn't goofed up, and for some reason the person she'd ordered from didn't honor a deal, I don't think marking received with a problem is exactly right. Isn't Received with a Problem for problems with the books themselves? As in the book isn't repostable for some reason?

To me if someone didn't honor a deal that is crummy of the person, however, if the book that was ordered with a credit is postable, that book that was ordered still should be marked received--not received with a problem. I think that the whole deal issue should be taken care of by PMs back and forth.

And yeah, I totally understand that Jane did nothing wrong in this case and it was the person ordering who goofed up.

After I sent her all the information that was suggested here, the person did go back and fix the RWP.  Thanks so much.
