The "old english" in this text seems incredibly forced. The phrase "it came to pass" occurs 1,297 times; while the Bible, which is more than three times as large, only has an occurrence of 452 times. The parts that don't seem forced appear to be plagiarized from the King James Version of the Bible (ex. 1 Nephi CHAPTERS 20-21 are Isaiah CHAPTERS 48-49).

Is it the Word of God? I can't say. What I can say is that it's one of the worst written sacred/holy texts I've ever read.

John 10:16 "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one sheperd."

Religion is a personal choice and the only advice I have is found in the Bible as well. James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that givith to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." I have studied this book and found it to be true. It was a personal choice and I respect everyone else's decision whether they agreed with it or not. If you are truly interested in exploring your personal relationship with God then I recommend you read it and choose for yourself.

Galations 1:6-9 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

This book has nothing to do with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no other gospel. Nothing was left out or changed in the original. The mormans claim that the Bible was changed by the Catholic Church, because there is nothing in the Bible that supports their religion unless it was changed.

I once considered joining the Latter Day Saint church but my desire to know God was greater than my desire to please man. I turned to the true Word of God and the Holy Spirit opened my eyes. Thank you Lord!!!!

The Book of Mormon - Another Testament of Jesus Christ
It is published by the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

It is a continuation of the bible. It tells how Jesus came to the Americas & converted people there after he was crucified & arose from the dead.
