I sent a question to the "contact us" link, but so far my problem hasn't been resolved, so I thought I'd post & see if anyone else has encountered this problem.

I have an RC requesting that people double check that the binding of the book matches the listing.  I recently had a wish listed book come into the system, but it was canceled due to my RC.  I know some people automatically reject any requests with RC's but this person actually wrote that the book was a paperback, rather than the hardback in the listing.

There were no other people wishing for the book, and no other copies in the system, so I got an email from PBS saying the book had been moved from my wish list to my reminder list.  I suppose this is necessary to keep from having some sort of endless loop of requesting/canceling, but as the book is posted incorrectly I'm annoyed that it's staying in the system & can't remain on my wish list.

I sent an email to PBS asking if they could get in touch with the person who posted it erroneously & have them repost it correctly, but the reply didn't answer my question, so now I'm waiting for a response to my reply.

Thoughts/comments/advice?  Thanks!

"I sent a question to the "contact us" link..."

How long has it been? PBS will respond but it could take several days to a week. If it's been a week or longer, you can re-submit your inquiry. And indicate "2nd REQUEST" so that it grabs someone's attention.

"I have an RC requesting that people double check that the binding of the book matches the listing...the person posted it erroneously..."

You say it was posted erroneously but not what the error is exactly. Was paperback correct, incorrect? Hardcover? You are correct in that the system has already addressed this one request and therefore, once the sender decline's the request, there are no other copies, etc., it does permanently decline this person's copy of the book int he system for you, until either A-  they get rid of their copy, or  B- another copy becomes available in the system.

You and can amend the correct book information that you want using your RC or clicking the "Edit Book Data" link at the bottom of the PBS page.

I would also suggest looking over the info. here at this link: http://www.paperbackswap.com/help/help_item.php?id=23

as there are several things that apply here [I think] and might sort it out better for you. I hope this helps!  =)

Cheers! And Happy Reading! =)

"the book was a paperback, rather than the hardback in the listing."

I'd go ahead and send a Second Request if you've gotten one reply but, they have not addressed your actual problem, they too may have missed your actual problem.

You and can amend the correct book information that you want using your RC or clicking the "Edit Book Data" link at the bottom of the PBS page. - The one thing that PBS almost never lets you change is the binding. That is usually because the ISBN is correct for both, but only one can be in the system so that person needs to post it as a non-ISBN book if their binding does not match the system's.

If you don't get an answer back from PBS, I would suggest rewording your RC to include something like "If you binding does not match what PBS has listed (i.e. PBS says hardcover and your is paperback) then it is posted incorrectly and you will need to remove your book from the system and post it as a book without an ISBN." Or copy and paste the Help Center info on it into your RCs. Then reorder the book. Once you get past this person, you can remove the harsher wording from your RC. this is how I have mine worded and haven't had many turn downs, Maybe 3-4 saying they have a paperback.

Please do not mail a paperback if the book is posted as a Hardcover. Paperbacks do not work in my bookholder!  (If the problem is that the paperback's ISBN is in the system as a Hardcover, then you need to post it as a book without an ISBN). If it is listed on PBS as a paperback, then that is what I want, go ahead and mail it.
