I was on vacation and out of town and had my account on vacation hold. I got an email saying I did not respond to a book request within a 48 hour timeframe so it was removed from my wishlist. The email didn't tell me which book it is, is there a way I can figure out which book it was? And how a book that was not on auto request offered to me while I was on vacation hold?

ETA: Nevermind about the book, I found it. I got 2 emails stating which book and just overlooked the first one.

I just still don't know how it was offered to me on vacation hold though.

I think you might want to contact PBS directly, to see if there was a glitch of some kind.

You should not have WL books offered to you while on vacation hold if they are not on auto-request. Unless, perhaps the offer came right before you put your account on hold? Is that possible?

I had that happen once, because I said my account would be on hold from 24-29th. The person put the ISBN in the system minutes before midnight and from what I understood that is what the system went on as my account was NOT on hold on 23rd at 11:43pm.

It sucks and I would contact TPTB if it got offered well after you had put your account on vacation hold.  I could tell because the email was sent at that time saying I was offered the book.

Did you have the book set to auto-request and then run out of credits? If that happens, the request is treated like one not auto-requested and you get the 48 hour timeframe to respond in.

If it's on autorequest and you are on vacation it 's supposed to skip you and go to the next person in line.

If a Wish List book becomes available while an account Vacation Hold is in effect, and the Wish List book IS set to auto-request:

  • if you have credit(s) in your account to request the book, it will be requested for you automatically, and sent to the mailing address on your account.
  • if you don't have any credits in your account, you will be passed over for that copy, and retain your place on the Wish List.

That book wasn't on auto request that's why I was confused.
