I got a book a few weeks ago from here and there was a rip on the spine, but I didn't think much of it as it wasn't an issue for me. I'm new to the site and so I don't yet think in terms of being able to repost. However, I'm now done with the book and I want to repost it but I'm not sure if it's actually a postable book.
The spine is intact, but the paper covering the spine has a rip in it, about two inches long. I have no idea how it happened in the first place, as the spine itself is intact just fine. The previous owner has taped it up to prevent any further damage and the book is definitely sturdy, no papers are coming loose..nor could I see that even happening with this issue since the spine itself is intact, but it does look a bit bad on the outside because of the rip and then the clear tape over top. I'd love to post the book and pass it on, but I'm not sure if it'll actually be ok.
Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
From the Help Documents: a small rip (less than 1 inch) in the cover is OKAY. Sounds like your book is not postable and could/should have been RWAP'd when you received it. Remember, tape cannot make a book postable so you were correct to notice what was under the tape.
