I posted a book which is wishlisted under a different ISBN. When I search by ISBN, the book appears and it says my book is posted. When I search by title or by author, my book does not appear. If people were aware of the other ISBN, it would likely be wishlisted as well, thus I doubt anyone will search for it by ISBN. Why does it not appear by title or author (yes, I verified spelling, spacing, and all details)? And, any ideas on what I can do to have it show up? Try editing the book data or something?

How long ago did you post it? If yours is the only copy under that ISBN, give it a while. It won't show up until the search index gets rebuilt. I'm not sure how often that is, but it may take a few hours.

You can tag the WL book with the your ISBN number to help get it ordered.  I put tags like "Also under ISBN XXX" on the WL version.

Thanks, how would I do that? When I have the WL book up, I don't see a place to tag it? I listed the book a couple of days ago, so maybe the update thing isn't as frequent as I would have guessed with all the listings there are.

On the book page, under the banner of other books, there will be a line "Apply your own tag to this book".   Enter your comment and push the +Tag button.

I guess I'm dense...I have the book page up for the wishlisted book, there is no banner of other books, nor a "apply your own tag..."  - there is picture, book info, description, genres and wiki - then nothing but the terms/paypal logo, and then the tiny tools info at the bottom. I even put on my glasses!

I took a look at your shelf, and I guess it's "Winds of Gath" that you want to tag? (By the way, your copy does show up if you search by title now.)

Here's how to tag the wish listed book:

1) Click on this link to open the book details page.

2) Scroll down a little bit to just below the Book Description. You'll see this:

Apply your own tag to this book: [                            ] [+Tag]  (there's a text box and a +Tag button there, but the editor won't let me post those here.)

Type "available as ISBN 9780099076100" in the box and then click the +Tag button.

Cathy - you are correct, and a wonder. (You poor thing...it's on pg 10!) I did edit the book data yesterday, adding size, weight info - wonder if that's why it's now being picked up? In any case, I'm glad...it was frustrating me.

Do you use FF? I use IE, and from your great description, I'm thinking the tag info should be somewhere in here (since I can't do a screen shot, I'm going to copy part of the description down to the wiki), where it isn't...

Description

Blah, blah, blah....planet's valleys and mountains, the dead can speak to the living . . . and men go mad! THE WINDS OF GATH is the first volume in the Dumarest of Terra saga!

Yes, I do use FF. I just opened that same page in IE though, and the tag options are there. I did have to login before I could see them. IE doesn't remember my login because I don't use it often enough. So after clicking my link to go to the book details page, check the upper right corner of the screen. If there's a "Login" link, then click it and login so the tag features will appear.

It wasn't that hard to find the book on your shelf. If you click on the Bookshelf button under your name above, then click Resort and choose Date Desc in the dropdowns, the most recent additions will be at the top of the list.
