So, I requested a book, and the sender accepted the request. That's as far as I had thought things had gone. The book showed up today. I can't marked it received because it's still in my "Books I've requested" page, not the "Books on their way to me" page. What do I do with it? I don't want the request to go onto someone else and get two copies. Am I overlooking a button somewhere? I'm still pretty new to this! Thanks! Denise |

I had this happen to me. I PM'd the person and explained the situation, asking them to mark the book as mailed. I never heard back from the person, so I had no choice but to keep that credit. |

The Help Center has a topic re: "I got a book I requested, but I can't mark it received!" I was going to paste the info here, but it's long. If you go to "browse help docs" there is a link in the "quick help" list on the right side of the screen. |

Wait for it to go "lost", then ,mark it received. |

I don't think it can ever go lost if it is never marked as mailed. The help says you need to PM the sender and then just wait for them to mark it as mailed. It may end up in your transaction archive if they don't do it soon enough. Cancel all other orders for that book that FIFO system sends to you. |

Check your Transaction Archive to see if the book was marked cancelled; it would have a red X. If so, you may be getting another book from the next person in line. If you don't see it cancelled, PM the sender right away and tell her to mark it mailed. |

I PM'd the sender as Lisa suggested, and she was able to mark the book mailed... and she remarked that it sure got there fast. Sure enough, I have a new 'shortest distance' in my transaction archive: 12 miles. That's probably that book!
Jean, next time I'll check the help forums first. *wince* Sorry for the newb mistake!
Thanks again guys! Denise |
