I received a book yesterday that the sender hasn't marked as mailed AND it does not meet my special requests.  I clearly state that I don't want books that smell musty or modly or of cigarette or cigar smoke.  When I opened this package, musty smells just rolled out and I started to sneeze!  I PM'd the sender and told her that the book didn't meet my requester conditions and that I couldn't mark it as received because she hadn't marked it as sent.  She sent me a VERY snotty reply and denied that the book smelled in any way.  I obvioulsy can't do something like take a picture of a smell!  I would like to return the book to her for a credit, but I haven't asked her yet.  Frankly, after her reply to my original PM, I'm not that eager to contact her again.  Even after telling her that she hadn't marked it mailed, 12 hours later, she STILL hasn't marked it mailed.  I'm thinking I may have to eat this credit and toss the book out.....I really don't want to send it back only for her to list it again and have someone else stuck with the book.

Oddly enough, I just received a very apologetic reply from the sender, saying she didn't mean to sound rude and it's the LAST thing she wanted to do, was to appear that way and maybe it's a difference between speaking "Northern" and "Southern"....HUH?????

Unless the sender marks it as mailed, it will eventually go lost and you'll get your credit back. In the meantime, if she does mark it mailed, you could mark it RWAP and ask for the credit back.

if she never marks it mailed it' will be cancelled (not go lost since it hasn't been marked mailed) 2 days after the mail date and you will get your credit back.  If you want another copy and there are others available you should go into the FIFO system and get a copy you can read.

How can I tell if the credit has been returned?  I didn't pay attention to how many credits I had, but the sender SAYS she has returned my credit and I don't have to return the book.    I didn't get any notification from PBS that a credit was returned.  I will put the book in our church's rummage sale and look for another copy.

Did you have the book on your wish list? If so then you have already been put back at the front of the line. If you just ordered a posted book then you can just find another copy to order. Glad that it worked out OK.

Actually, I got the credit and found the book on my Reminder List, so I can request it again.  Thanks everyone for your help.  Everyone on PBS is amazing!
