I am in need of some good books to read. Something I will not be able to put down. I enjoy Sisterchicks, Yada Yada Prayer Group, Beverly Lewis, John Grisham, Michael Crichton, Jan Karon. I do not like to read romance or thrillers.

Thanks for your help!

Lisa

The ladies here got me hooked on the Mustard Seed series by Nancy Moser. I LOVED each of the 3 books I read.

Lisa- I am also going to reccomend Patti Hill. I just finished the first of her Garden Gate series (Like A Watered Garden) and it was wonderful.

If you like Beverly Lewis, you would enjoy Wanda Brunstetter and Kim Vogel Sawyer.  Another author you will find hard to put down is Jodi Picoult.

I just finished Gardenias for Breakfast by Robin Jones Gunn and can't recommend it enough.  A story of 4 generations of women in the same family and growing up and forgiveness.  I wept through the last chapter  :O)

Thanks so much for the recommendations! I have read Gardenias for Breakfast & loved it! I think I have read a lot of Wanda Brunstetter & Kim Vogel  Sawyer. I'm going to sit down & put the ones I have not read on my list.  I had not heard of Patti Hill so I put Like a Watered Garden on my reminder list. I just mailed 3 books yesterday so I'll be able to order 3 books in a few days! Can't wait!

I started Julia's Hope by Leisha Kelly last night and could not put it down. I read 200 pages just last night!! It is a 5-book series and I know my mom adored the whole series.

You could try the books by Cindy Woodsmall.  The first one is called When the Heart Cries.
