I've got a request for Anne McCaffereys Powers that be, which best as I can tell is not on my list of owned books. I've got some books in storage at my families home up north and maybe at some point I had it but I don't think so and a look at my list of available books doesn't list it as being offered. So how is it that somebody is requesting it from me?

If someone's requested it, then it's not going to be on your bookshelf any longer.  Once you decline the request saying you can't send it, then the book is removed from your bookshelf.

ah so I really aught to look around and see if I can find it then. Thing is I don't remember aquiring that book. I know I read it years ago from the library and theres the likelyhood I bought a copy at some point but I just can remember handling it recently. Time to look through some things I guess. Considering I've moved twice in the last year it shouldn't be surprising to me that it not easily on hand.

Here is my trick for finding books ...

If you look at the request on your My Account page, you'll see the date and time you posted this book. Then you can go to your My Bookshelf page and sort by date. Look at the other books on your shelf that were posted around the same time as the book that's been requested. Go find those books that are still on your shelf and odds are the one that's been requested will be nearby.
