I went to post a book Bloodlines by Dinah McCall with the ISBN 0778321614;  only that ISBN pulls up as Bloodlines by Sharon Sala.  So I looked for the book by Dinah McCall hoping to find it with the proper ISBN and none of them have the same ISBN as this copy. Anyone know what to do in this situation?

Have you checked Amazon?  I do that sometimes to verify books.  Publisher's do re-use ISBN's.  Do you think this might be the same author with different name?  If all else fails you will have to post under a PBS given 5 digit number only for your book - they do this for books without ISBN's, too.

Sharon Sala and Dinah McCall are the same author: http://www.romanceauthorspage.com/sharonsala/

But, I'm not sure what you'd do in this situation. I'm assuming the book was reissued with the same ISBN, but the publishers updated the author's name.

In this case - you might want to tag the book with a note that says it's same author different name.  Maybe also tag it with your PBS - given number?

Even though these are the same author, you have be careful with the PBS guidelines when posting this book.  If the author doesn't match, it's not postable.  ???

Off to get some more help on this one!  LOL

What you want to do is either use the "contact us"  link at the bottom or use the "Edit Book Data" link.

There is a field in the Edit Book Data link for a description of the reason for updating. Ask in that field for them to list the book under both authors. If you can, also point them to a web site that will verify that the authors are the same.

I have done this myself to fix a similar situation where a book was listed under the authors "real" name, when it should have been listed under her pseudonym, which was the name on the book cover.

Edited to say: the book ended up listed under both names, with a line in the book description explaining the pseudonym.

Two options:
1. Post without an ISBN.

2. Post using the ISBN and send in book data correction to correct the author's name.  I would submit correction data so that both author names show.  This is not uncommon here.  For example, Jean Plaidy and Victoria Holt are the same author, and many of her works have both author names listed.

Sheryl....even though they are the same author you can't post with that ISBN until it is fixed in the system...so, only after the data has been fixed can it be posted with that ISBN.
