I made atrip to Target store stoday to pick up a couple things. I made the mistake of going into the book isles....not a mistake, but that is a dangerous isle for me to go to.  Any I saw a whole bunch of good sounding books, so I so I spent   the next 20 minutes writing names and authors down, came home and looked them up on PBS and now I have about 12 new books I just "HAVE" to have!

Where did you list them here?   Are they all on your WL?   Is this a hint?  LOL     :)     D.

All store book sections are dangerous territory for me.   Back before I discovered PBS, I kept an inventory list and a "needed" list in mini address address books by author.  It was the only way I could contain myself!  ;D

I went to Wally World earlier in the week for cat food and coffee creamer, and left with 8 new books.  Was tempted by 4 more but I resisted those.  That trip at least!

Not a hint for for most of you...but check the wish list anyway, if you want to....I do have a daughter who is menber and my birthday is in November!!!   Leave the store with 8 books!!  I might buy ONE book, but that is it....one at a time, that is!

Now, at least you resisted the temptation to buy those books and instead copied down titles and authors.  That's what I do too.  I have so many books to read, I'm content to wait until something comes up on my WL.  I rarely buy a book new.

I wish I could move in to the Target book section.  I don't know why, but basically everything they choose appeals to me.

You can get on the Target newletter and they'll send you a list of their Bookmarked titles.

I get my phone out and take pictures of the books I want when I'm in the store :-b

I'm never terribly tempted by Target's book section--mostly I find it's the uber-popular stuff or else chick lit. I usually manage to walk through there unscathed. Don't turn me loose in a B&N or Waldenbooks though, where I can find those specialty sections...oy! LOL

Cheryl - you still have a Walden books ?  ours was turned into B&N or closed down.  We only have Borders and B&N now.  How sad.  I agree I am not usually tempted by many books in Targets.  Walmart - at least the one near me - has very odd selections at times it is a hit or miss.  When I am bored I will go to B&N take in a coffee to spend away time.  Not often but I get to do it sometimes.

RUTH F. -"I kept an inventory list and a "needed" list in mini address address books by author."

This is the best idea I ever heard for WL books!  I have scraps of paper with authors, sticky notes with Must Haves, book titles written on the back on envelopes - all guaranteed to not be to hand when I need them, LOL.  I've got the perfect, small address book, though, that I could carry in my purse at all times. Thanks so much for this tip!

I'm so glad I looked at your wishlist.  I saw a book at Walmart on Friday the I wanted, but didn't have a pen at the time.  By the time I got home I had forgotten the title.  It was Weight of Silence, which you have on your wishlist...lol.

I love the book section at Target! If I'm going to buy a WL book that I just can't wait on, I always check there first, since they are 30 percent off. The Target by my office has a much better selection of books than any Wal-Mart I've ever been in (which is great because I HATE Wal-Mart with a passion - I've managed to only go in twice this year).

I keep a memo in my BlackBerry of books I see that I want to add here on PBS.
