I just realized that some of my books that I had previously posted are on the "books on hold" list of my bookshelf.  Is this a new feature or have I just never noticed it. I know when I post that I have received a book an options comes up about a "hold".  I have never really known what it was for, but I also click to okay it.

Still, I do not understand why some of the books I have posted back to the system are still on a hold list. There are over 200 books on that list. I know I have not put all of them back on, because some were damaged, some I have given to others. But now I am going to have to search thru my home shelves to see what all is really posted. what at pain. No wonder some of the books have been sitting on my shelf for so long, they were never really posted I guess.

How the heck did this happen!!!!!! anyone got a clue??

What does it look like when it's on hold?

when you go to your bookshelf, there is a drop down box that says - all books, posted books, and books on hold. You select one of the 3 to see that list. I guess all books are all the books your have every posted and every received. I just dont know anymore. things keep changing and I keep staying in place. I think I am in a lost place. LOL

I see where the buttons are to click but how did you know some books were on hold? Does it have a symbol or something? I clicked on the hold feature and it just asked if I wanted to put the books on hold that were checked. I'm afraid to actually check one to see. I don't know if you lose your place in line or not? LOL...

between the words VIEW and DOWNLOAD  is a box with an arrow, that is where you find the 3 drop down options.

do not click on that hold button, that will put the book on the hold list. of course you can then take it off an put it on the post list.

Well, I can't get the link to work. But if you will copy and past that in the Help Center, it should come up.

Okay, I found it. I don't have any on hold but I was worried they all went on hold because I couldn't get my bookshelf back at first. I learn something new on this site all the time.

Dartha, thanks. I still do not know why some of my books that I reposted ended up still on the hold list. Guess I will spend the weekend going thru my real bookshelve to see what is really posted.

Here is an option I would really like: to be able to resort by books on the club wish list. You know, the books that have the Big Red W or the Wa listed on them, that show they are on someones wish list. I would like to pull them all up at once. Then I could either post them or delete or tag them.

do you think that would be anything you would use? I am debating suggesting it to the Big Guy.
THANKS JB

books that I reposted ended up still on the hold list.

I was going to ask if you reposted from your bookshelf or by using the post books tab from your main account page, but I forgot what my name was for a moment today. Much less how I would have reposted a book into the system. Plus, I don't know if that would be the answer or not.

I do know that it has a lot (if not all?) to do with the little footprint thingy that looks like a question mark beside each book title and keeping track of the books travels through the PBS world of wonder.

The longer I type, the more I see that I should have stayed off the computer today.....rotfl!

*I personally wouldn't use it, but I hate that I have two pages showing on my bookshelf right now. I like to keep it to one page.

It could be books you're received. I have to remember to mark mine "Delete from bookself: Yes". I dilike that it lists books you order when you mark them received.

Books that are posted have the green checkmark.  Books on hold have the "red circle with the line through it" on top of the green checkmark.

Patty, I know, but I had not really paid attention to the actual titles. Some of those "Hold" books I thought I had reposted but they were not on my posted list.

Only thing I can figure out is that I put some books in my "posted box" instead of my "need to post" box. Then from that box I finally moved them on to my PBS shelf area. At any rate it is a good thing I was looking around for new features and found the mistake.

thanks Judye

Hey Judye,

I posted some books from my TBR list this morning.  These are books that I received through PBS and have read.  They showed up on my TBR and on my "hold" list.  Well, after I posted them I went to my bookshelf and looked at my books on "hold", they were still listed there.  I deleted them off of that list.  I guess I'll have to remember if I post from one list, I'll have to delete the books from the other list.
