I read thru the FAQs and it appears that WL books are supposed to show up immediately?

Would that mean that the swappers are no longer active or something?

Confused.

I'm not sure what you mean, Laura.  Did you post two books to your bookshelf that are wishlisted books and they're not being requested or did you put two books on your wishlist and you're not getting a response from senders?

The ISBN may not be the same as the one's you know are wishlisted.  Also, check your bookshelf for a grey ! by the book in question.  It may be in a 1 hour buy3ers remorse period.  Also, make sure the book hasn't chown up on your account page by now.

What if I post a paperback with one ISBN, but that same paperback is WL with another ISBN? Is there a way to let the member know that the book is available under a different ISBN?   My example here is Dead Man's Walk by Larry McMurtry.

Thomas - the system will automatically send a "Similar to Wish..." email to everyone who is wishing for a paperback with a different ISBN. If your book doesn't get snapped up pretty quickly, then you will know those other wishers are looking for that specific book for some reason and they don't want yours.

Laura - your account is currently on vacation hold, so any wish list book you posted will go on your bookshelf. You have to come off hold to offer it to another member.

Thank you to everyone answering.

CathyA,  for some reason I thought WLed books showed up whether on vacation or not.   I see.  They show up as requested ONLY if they were posted by me when I'm NOT on vacation.

However, I am correct in assuming that, if I had posted them to my bookshelf BEFORE I went on vacation, and then went on vacation immediately after I posted them, that would have a different outcome entirely, i.e., that they would show up as requested.

Yes, if you posted them while you were not on vacation, they would have immediately been offered to other members. In that case, the books would only go back onto your shelf if the other members did not accept the offers.

Thomas-there arae 94 copies of your version posted.  If there are other versions WL-my guess is those people really want a specific cover or the WL versions could be large print, trade sized, hardcover.  Or just inactive accounts that haven't been weeded out and are wishing for a rare/never  posted version.
