I don't know if this is the right place, but I thought I'd ask. I was going through old cards, looking for Christmas cards for a RAOK and came across several greeting cards I thought would make nice bookmarks. I've been sent a few handcrafted bookmarks, but have never made any (beyond designing them on the computer and printing them out).

Anyway, I was wondering if we ever do any kind of bookmarks swap or round robin or anything. I wouldn't want to organize one. Frankly, I no longer have the mental capacity. And sometimes (last week, for instance) I don't even feel like getting out of bed for a few days. I just wondered if anyone ever runs one and, if so, when there might be another one.

Also, if you make bookmarks yourself, do you have any tips? I used to be fairly creative before chemotherapy dried up all my brain cells. Now I can't even make a decent grilled cheese sandwich.

So, if I'm posting in the wrong place, point me in the right direction. smiley

You will see in the RAOK forum people wishing for bookmarks as well as those who handcraft them and offer them to others here.  Also, when you see people wishing for cardfronts off of used greeting cards, I think a lot of them use them to make bookmarks.  The ones I see or get usually are laminated, sometimes with a ribbon added at the top to stick out of the book.

And I'll add - already PMd Glenda - I think the place for a bookmark swap would be the games forum??  Am I right?  Have only looked there briefly, but see they do have a tea swap etc.   Anyone?? Fill us in on this, please.

I would say the games forum would be a better place to post your request.  There are many different games that don't always include books.  For example, the monthly tea and coffee swaps.  The Sista and Diva swaps and the yearly calendar swap.

If you post in the game forum, you might be able to find someone who will run the swap for you.  I know I would play. :)

Thanks, Lori, that's what I thought - good to know. Glenda, there's where to go if you want to do this!   Even if you don't want to run it, you can suggest it.

There used to be a bookmark swap in the games Forum years ago but it kinda petered out. I think Carol K. (BlackPanther)  was the one who ran it but she got burned out. You might check with her for some insight on getting one started. I know I swapped before & would love to again.

Thanks, y'all. I'm gonna lurk around the games forum for a while and see what I can find out. wink

I think I'm just needing a creative outlet, since I'm really limited on what I feel like doing these days. Some sort of swap or round robin would provide motivation to actually make something.

Off to see what I can see.
