  Books lining the shelves
Books on the table
Books on the floor
Books under the bed
Books given away
Books traded away
Books rained on; aaw too bad

I wonder how big a room I'd need
if I kept all my books
I wonder how much less joy I'd have
if I kept all my books

i really love this. i like the question you introduce at the end. it makes me think greatly about what i could be doing with all these books that collect. i still collect so many i do not want or never finished 'cause i did not like them. i see in my mind that if paper back swap did not exist the books would collect till i would need a seprate house for all the books that i would not like in my collection. it would be a house with arms, so that i could put the books on the lawn and it would feed itself, all the little books. never for me to see again. in my head, of course, it is a sad story with a stark sky ending. a kickin' the rock, sort of story. thank you for sharing this. : ]
