Howdy all,

Have you by chance had your books on vacation and got a request anyway?  I just had this happen this week and I had the books on request for well enough time that a request wouldn't be sent to my account through the system. I filled it anyway, but was just curious if anyone else has had this happen to them.

Happy Memorial day to all. Be safe and don't drink and drive.  heart  Think b4 you drink. Have a DD on standby if your heading out to the club's.

Haven't had that happen yet.  Was the book on WL hold until the member could verify credits?

I have had several members who I had requested books from earlier in the week put their accounts on hold without accepting or cancelling my request...didn't know you could even do that -- thought you would have to deal with outstanding requests before being able to put your account on hold.

You can go on vacation with pending requests.  Otherwise, you may never be able to go on vacation if you have an active account. Going on vacation just prevents new transactiosn from starting.  It doesn't necessarily mean they are actually on vacation. You can still come on and order books, add books to  your WL, use the forums etc.., while on vacation.  You don't have to come off vacation to request a non-WL book.

I use it to control postage costs.  I will frequently come off hold just long enough to post a couple of WL books.  I have some of my WL books on autorequest.  I have 3 pending books to mail now and I'm on "vacation"

Hi Sally,

I didn't have any outstanding request. I wouldn't put my account on hold if I had them.  And as i said i got a request while they were on hold, but I filled it anyway. I just had the books on hold, but was still on line.

Very well put.

No it weren't a WL book on hold. Excellent question though.

Cyndi, maybe it was a request that was still in the buyer's remorse period when you put your account on hold?

Yes, it could very well have been in the buyers remorse period and you wouldn't have known when you put your account on hold.

It would have had been their for more than a week then, because my books had been put on hold for that or maybe even longer. In that amount of time I can't see a book coming to me to fill with my books on vacation. Had it been 1 or 2 days then that is understandable but, for over a week or more? Doesn't make sense at all and I still don't know if it were a WL book yet. Nothing showed WL or nothing else about the book, just request to be filled. So, as I said I filled it, but it had been a week or more when books were on vacation.

They recently had some glitches while doing updates, so perhaps this was one of them?

Cyndi, you could ask the Admin Team to look at what happened.  To talk to them, go down to the bottom right corner of any page and under "company" click on "contact us."  Use the "Feedback" option there.  Let us know what they say!
