I am currently reading How to Teach Filthy Rich Girls by Zoey Dean, which has now been made into a tv series called "Priviledged".  Also, on my TBR pile is Notes from the Underbelly by Risa Green, which I believe was a sitcom that got cancelled.  I know the Gossip Girl books have been made into a series also.  Can you think of any others?

Of course you can go back a few years - Little House on the Prairie, etc etc

Caryn, I just caught the first episode of The Starter Wife and I cracked up!

Sex and the City is one that comes to mind.

A funny story, when I was a kid I thought it was so neat that LHOTP was such a good tv show that someone wrote a series of books about it.  LOL

It goes back aways, but Earl Hamner Jr.'s "Spencer's Mountain" became "The Waltons"

"Homicide: Life on the Streets" was based on the book Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets (I got it from PaperbackSwap, but haven't read it yet!).

ETA: The Superman, Batman, and X-Men (and probably others) comic books have spawned a number of TV series.

Tanya Huff's Blood books spawned a TV series on Lifetime called "Blood Ties."  I don't have cable, so I'm interested to know if any of you have seen/liked it.

(I can't really see it as a TV series myself, but I've been considering looking for it on DVD just out of curiosity)

M*A*S*H was first a book, then a movie, then a TV show.

Terry Goodkind's the Sword of Truth series is being made into a TV series called Legend of the Seeker.

ETA: It starts November 1st. Check local listings as it's not airing on a specific network. It's being aired on different affiliates, I believe.

My BF loves the books. I've not read them, and don't plan on it. Tonight (Oct. 18th) was a special preview episode thing.

I loved the Sword of Truth books.  Will have to be sure and check out the TV series.

Matt - I started watching Blood Ties before I realized it was based on a series of books.  Now I am trying to collect the books so I can read them.  I really like the TV show, but I am a sucker for a gorgeous vamp and detective shows both.
