I have a book request that is about to time-out tonight. I had requested the first book and then saw two other books on the poster's bookshelf that I was interested in. If they time out will the two additional books also get sent to the next person in FIFO or will have to request them again seperatly? |

All of the books will go to the next person with that book in its FIFO line so they will most likely all go to separate senders. |

Thanks, that's what I thought. It is too bad as I would have loved to save someone shipping. |

This is one feature I don't care for. I understand a request going to the next person that has a requested book posted automatically if the book was a WL. But I wish regularly requested books were just shown as declined or refused or timed out and then you had the option of reordering it from someone else if you wanted to. I had a 2 for 1 deal worked out for 8 Audio tapes. I ordered the first 4 and was then contacted by the member that all 8 would be sent. I went away for 4 days. When I got home and logged on, my credit transactions showed '0' credits taken from the original member and all the audio tapes had been ordered for me by PBS and were being sent to me by 4 different individuals. They were tapes I probably would have bothered to order if they hadn't been offered in a deal. So now I had to spend 8 credits on 4 tapes I didn't really want instead of 8 credits for 8 tapes. And by the way, the original member's account was suspended by PBS after I had ordered the tapes so they caused the refusal of my order, not the member. Luckily, I have a good amount of credits, but I would be even more upset if I only had a few and had them used up this way rather than getting the deal I had worked out. |

I agree, Ann. I wish the site would ask you to verify whether or not you want your request kicked over to FIFO rather than doing it automatically. Just a few days ago, I ordered an additional book from a member who'd posted one of my wishlist books. My request for the second book was accidentally declined, and by the time I realized that it had moved on to the FIFO system, another member had received the request and mailed the book. It wasn't a huge deal since I'd had my eye on the book for awhile, but the main reason I'd choosen to request it now was to save on shipping for a member who'd posted a wishlist book that I was grateful to receive. |
