I don't use the various lists in the way that they are designed. I use the Reminder list when I'm checking out someone's shelf for a deal. I use the TBR list to hold books that I'm waiting for the pictures I've submitted to show up. I use the BIR list for books that I'm trying to find.

My BIR list had 5 books on it. Just 5. Today, I thought I had found one of the books on the BIR. So, I downloaded the list. When I looked at the CSV, it had over a thousand books on it. Every book that had ever been on my BIR list was on that list. That included all of the early books that I posted since when you post a book, it gets posted to the BIR unless you specify otherwise.

It doesn't do that for any other list. Has anyone else noticed this?

Tim, excuse my ignorance, but doesn't CSV refer to some kind of software generated list?  I wouldn't know how to look at that!  Are you saying that when you view your BIR list from My Lists it only give you the five books you knew were on it, but you're seeing another list with more books on it?  I always answer NO when asked the automatic question about whether I want a book on my BIR list.  Early on when I discovered that there were lots of book on it I deleted them--I also use a couple of the lists for other purposed.  I use the BIR for books I've read but don't own--such as from the library.  And I use the TBR for books I plan to post but am not ready to actually make available yet--like those that are on wishlists when I'm limiting how many books to send out at one time.

For each of the lists, there's a download button. When you press that button, it downloads the list onto your computer into a CSV file, i.e. a file that can be read with Excel. I'm pretty good with Excel, so using the downloads means that I can do cross references and such.

My BIR list doesn't show the thousand plus books on it. They only show up when I download the list onto my computer.

I know I have deleted some books from my BIR list, so I downloaded it. The CSV version looks like what is showing online.

Maybe it's just me for some reason. Some setting or other that I changed but don't remember doing. I'm not sure.

Thanks for checking.

Hmm.   My list has 1732 on the web site.   (I don't really use the list.  I'd delete it if it had a check all button.) The download has 1823.
