Okay, I think I understand why some people prefer to keep their wishlist private.  Some of that makes sense to me though I am disappointed because I love to see what others are wishing for and get some great ideas that way.

My question now is, why do people prefer to keep how many books they've received and/or sent private.

Occasionally I'll look at it when I'm posting WL books to someone's shelf.  If I post multiple books to one person, it's because I want to save on postage by mailing them together.  If it looks like they don't have enough credits, or aren't active, I may see if someone else wants the books, rather than have them all roll to 3 or 4 different wishers with no postage savings to me.

People have complained about getting nasty pm's from people because they send out a lot more books than they receive or vice-versa.  Why this is anybody's busines, I don't know. I know several people on here that buy credits because they keep most of their books and don't like mailing books out.  And there are others like me who have so many books that they don't order that many except for mostly WL books.  But no ones every bothered me for having sent out a lot more than I"ve received.

So maybe I guess wrong.  So what?  I'm a big girl and I can deal with it.  I make the best decision I can, and that's one of the factors I use.

Also, they may be very private.  The number of books also provides a link to the map that gives the location where the books came from.  It doesn't name the city, but you can tell what state and what part of what state.  Some people don't want that information listed publicly.
