ISBN 0375837868 - Board books for children that are sold in sets seem to have one great negative: the entire set gets one ISBN, making it hard to write a review if you only have one book. The "Books on the Go" series includes "Cars", which is the book this review is for.
On 22 thick board pages, some of the cars of Richard Scarry's Busytown are shown in all their cartoon-y glory. From recognizable real-world vehicles like campers and taxis, to vehicles you'll only find in Busytown, including Cheese Cars and a Bananamobile, these cars and the animal characters that drive them and care for them will delight young fans.
The pages, of thick cardboard, are great for little readers - they take a lot of abuse without tearing and they're easier to turn than flimsy paper. The small size of the book makes it a superb choice for taking along when you're out and about. The illustrations are typical Scarry, bright and fun (the car wash is in a bathtub, for example).
