Ok, just a little vent. I requested  6 books from one person. She is sending 2 of them. Where are the other 4? She sold them on another site. I understand that you might have just sold them, discarded them or given them away but her reply was, those were listed in 2008 and she sold them on another site. Well, take them off your bookshelf already! The thing is, I ordered 6 bu there were 2 I really wanted. Of course, those 2 aren't the 2 I'm getting and I don't know that I would have bothered with the other 4 if I knew I wasn't getting the 2 I really wanted.

Vent over. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I agree, I don't undertand why swappers don't take the books off when they've put them on other sites and they've sold/been traded.  It's very upsetting to have this happen!

Well  I don't really  understand why you would order 6 books from someone if you only wanted 2 and they weren't on a deal. If you don't want those 2 why did you order them?

It was bad of her though to not keep her shelf updated.  I do 2 booksites as well and I try to keep the books I have posted on each site different.  I try to only use the other site for unpostables though as I rarely get books that I want from there. So I don't want to build up a lot of credits. But the few times I have posted books in both places-I delete it from my shelf here as soon as it's ordered there.  She only do one site if she can't keep up with them both.

Also if the books are posted by other people on PBS then the requests will get passed onto them.  You could also ask her to cancel the order for the 2 she has-but it'll just pass the requests onto someone else.  If she hasn't printed the label yet then you can cancel.

I think she's saying that the two books she *really* wanted (wanted the most) are the ones not being sent.  Not that she didn't want the others.

Susan...what a pain :(  I can understand someone selling some of their books, but how hard is it to keep your bookshelf updated?  If you sell one or get rid of some by another way than delete it off the shelf.  Hope you can find the other 4 quickly :)

I've had nothing but good luck with PBS so I really shouldn't complain. I chose to order more books from the sender when I saw the 2 I first wanted. I'm sure the others will be fine. It just was frustrating. I didn't ask for a package deal either. I feel comfortable paying one credit for one book. I was just frustrated with her response. Maybe she just barely got rid of the books but the comment that they were listed in 2008 and had been sold on another site kind of implied that it didn't happen recently. More like they were forgotten.

I'm having a very rough week and I guess I was just a little frustrated. All in all, it's just a blip.

I've been that person before! :S Sometimes I go through and clean out a large part of my shelf, and miss a couple when I'm deleting them from my paperbackswap shelf. It happens, but I'm sorry it happened to you with so many!

I've also had that happen to me, and I usually cancel the order when the one or two that I wanted-wanted can't be sent.

If you cancel the order, she may get the message that she should clean up her bookshelf.  If she knows she's going to lose orders when she disappoints people like that, she may be motivated to keep her bookshelf current.

It's my understanding that once she prints the labels I can't cancel the request. I ordered 6. She accepted 2, cancelled 4 and printed the labels all at the same time. By the time I knew she had cancelled 4 it was too late to cancel the remaining 2. There were 2 I really wanted and 4 others that sounded interesting and I decided to go for it and order all 6. The 2 I really wanted are among the 4 that were cancelled. Like I said, it's just a blip, I did make the decision to order the ones I will be getting.

These are all craft books. This is the first time I've used PBS for that type of book. I'm sure I will enjoy them.

That stinks. I admit I made that mistake once on BookMooch. The requestor happened to be French. I probably exacerbated French citizen's negative opinions of Americans that day. Ooops. C'est la vie!
