I love that book and would love to read others that are similar. Not Mona Lisa smile though. I didn't enjoy that one at all. Thanks for any suggestions.

I think A Separate Peace by John Knowles is supposed to be similar to Dead Poets Society.  I haven't read it in 15 years and haven't seen Dead Poets Society in just as long, so I'm not 100% sure, but it's a good book all the same.

A Separate Peace and its sequel would be my suggestion as well. When I watch the movie Dead Poet's Society I always think of A Separate Peace. Also, what about the book Cider House Rules  it is about a boys orphanage, rather than bording school, but just as movng as the other books.

Yes, I read The Cider House Rules a few years ago. I liked the book but as a pro-lifer, it was difficult subject matter for me to read.
