I have a quick question if anyone can help. I just joined a couple of weeks ago and I noticed that I have different versions of some of the books on the wish list (i.e. they wishlisted paperback and I have hardcover) Is there anything I can do to make it know that I do have those books? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer! Heather

Well it'll usually send out an email to let people know a different version of their WL book has been posted.  But not everyone looks at those emails.  I would post in book bazaar the WL books you have in a dif version.  If someone has an audio or large print version WL that's most likely all they want.  But I know I've ordered hardbacks of books I have on WL for paperback before.  I prefer PB but I'll settle for HB on a WL if I really want it bad enough.  Post them in the BB and also in your signature.

Oh goodie - I get to contribute something I learned when I was a newbie!!! Heather, there's a thread each month for wishlisted books w/different ISBN's.  If you do a Discussion Forum search, and type in "different ISBN" for the subject field, you'll get a search w/all threads with this in the title.  Then, you can add a post for your books.  I know I check these regularly for books I'm looking for, since sometimes the email notifications are "iffy".

Here's a link to the January thread.

ditto to the fact that those that have it WL will receive an email.  I know that I did and it gives you a direct link to the item posted.

I think the only problem with that one thread is that your post can get lost in the shuffle.  I know I probably wouldn't read all of the pages to see if a book I want has been listed under another ISBN and then find out it is gone!

You would have to look up the titles and see if another version. I find that half the people who post this question think they have a WL book. But really their version of the book is readily available in PBS.  It's just an audio or lrg print version that's WL. And usually people who WL those, only want those. But I have had a couple books myself that were heavily WL in the same format as mine but mine had a dif ISBN for some reason. Same cover and everything just a dif ISBN.  I posted my own thread in the BB and they were snapped up right away. So if you have some time one day and want to you can look up the books on your shelf and see. Most likely you don't.  I've found that they are often snapped up before I even half to post in the BB.  Even if it's not a WL but I've posted the only copy.  I think their's also a thread in the BB called "I have the Only copy of...," If you put a book on your Reminder List it'll tell you how many copies are in the system already.

Thanks so much for all of your help. It's easy to get lost in so much stuff on here...I need to sit down and actually spend the time to click each tab and see where it takes me. THANK YOU!  Heather
