I happen to like SF/Fantasy books but my wife recently changed from reading romance novels to books by James Patterson and Robert Crais.

I am the shopper so even if she didnt have anything to read she wouldnt go looking for more books, she waits till I find something or someone dumps a bag of books at the house.

That being said if she like Patterson and Crais what othe writers should I be looking at for her? I was thinking the Jesse Stone series might be good?

Thank you

You might have her try the following:

JA Konrath's Jack Daniels series - Jack is a female Chicago cop with a gun, a Prada and big chip on her shoulders. It is humor and murder combined.

John Lescroart's Dismas Hardy  - Dismas is a cop, turned lawyer, turned bartender, turned lawyer for the prosecution, turned lawyer for the defense. He is a man in transition, an awesome series, but start with the 3rd book in the series. The first two weren't that good.

Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire series - Walt is a Sheriff in Wyoming that has a fun cast of characters to keep him in line. I have only read the first book in the series, reading the 2nd this week. But that one book was very, very good.

A few others that come to mind--

Michael Connelly's Harry Bosh series

Harlan Coben--His Myron Bolitar series is great, but I actually like his stand alone books even better.

And another one of my favorites--Jeffrey Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme series--lots of unexpected twist and turns.

I agree with Keri about the John Lescroart Dismas Hardy series--John Lescroart is one of my favorite authors.

Thanks Laura, how in the heck could I forget about Lincoln Rhymes...I adore that series and didn't even think of it.

I didn't comment on the Jesse Stone series because I haven't read any of them. But I know that there people on the board that do read those books and enjoy them.

I've read all of the Parker books, and I've enjoyed the Jesse Stone series - but sometimes I want to smack him! :-)

I second the Michael Connelly & Jeffrey Deaver suggestions.  She might like these

John Sandford- Prey series

Jonathan Kellerman- Alex Dealware series

Faye Kellerman-Peter Decker Series

James Lee Burke- Dave Robicheaux- Series

Thanks
