This is the best site-EVER!! I just moved into an apartment and my posted books take up the front closet, and my TBR pile takes up the shelf in the bedroom closet. Currently reading Young Miles by Bujold...almost finished and LOVING IT!! Next, is Red Thunder....and I need to work the Lost Fleet in there somewhere...and I just requested Orphanage... So what do ya'll think? Good times to come?? Also, anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks!!

LOL, definitely more good times to come. . .

Always glad to see somebody discovering Bujold. . . there are plenty more Vorkosigan books to read at the very least (including one currently in the works and hopefully due to be published near the end of the year called Cryoburn) and all of Bujold's fantasy. :)

It is indeed. . . and that makes me sad, because it's one of my favorites in the series and there's a risk of it going out of print even though the others aren't as a result. . .

But when you get to it you'll see that there isn't any good way of combining it with another book, because it's the point where the series makes a fairly major shift, and so it doesn't quite fit thematically with the books on either side. At any rate, I hope you enjoy! :)

Your tbr only one shelf, huh?  You haven't been here long, have you?

If you haven't read anything by Vernor Vinge, I recommend Deepness in the Sky or Fire Upon the Deep.

I can just see the bedroom closet shelf being in a long closet that takes up one whole wall with three sliding doors.  That would be my TBR since joining.  Came here to get rid of books.  Oh my.

You picked a great series. I've read my Miles series form start to finish about 8 times. It will be 9 when the new book comes out. That includes Falling Free and the one about the doctor trying to retrieve uterises [sp] for his planet's uterine replicators.

I recommend Anne MaCaffrey's Pegasus In Flight series that becomes the Lyon's Pride series. This is about the growth of PSI talents in humans and how it is nurtured and grown to benefit mankind. I also liked just about everything else she wrote.

The 1632 series by Eric Flint and a host of other co-authors. How much fun can you have dropping a West Virginia Coal Town into the middle of the 30 Years War. Those rednecks are armed to the teeth and don't put up with the inquisition.

Phule's company series for fun. In one book they build a roller coaster to win a war.

I really enjoyed 1632 -it's the best of that series. There's at least one collection of short stories based on that 'world' that's really good too.
