Search - Boundaries in Dating

I didn't like this book one bit! AS a former university pastor much of the advice in this book would be considered "dangerous" by me. I feel that if we truly trust in God and believe He knows who our future spouse would/should be then we don't need to "test drive" relationships. I prefer Josh Harris's courtship approach and have seen the beauty of this type of relationship proven many times over including in my own marriage.

Having recently gone through a long and painful separation and upcoming divorce, I'm definitely not ready to date yet, but want to be prepared! This is the first of the "Boundaries" books I have read and this one is very well written and accessible. I also discovered alot of insights into relationships that were convicting and encouraging, as well. If you desire to follow God in your search for a life-partner, I highly recommend this book. I like that each chapter ends with a bulleted list of "take away tips" too. (I need repetition!) Their coverage of various issues is thorough and the treatment is very biblically based.

I was hoping this would be a little more "personal change" and not so much "God loves you." I had to stop in the first 20 pages so maybe it does have some good advice.
