Thanks to everyone for helping me out with my "bump" question.  Now I was wondering what the difference is between Box O Books and making deals on Book Bazaar?

With Box of Books I will pick out the books I would like from someone and the other person will pick out what books they would like from mine. It's like an even exchange between 2 members. No credits are exchanged. It costs $8.00 a year to be a boxer.

I have been a boxer for about a month now and LOVE it.  My bookshelf was getting some traffic when I first joined, but things were pretty slow... once I joined BoB... gawd! I am making weekly trips to the  PO now.  It is agreat service, esp. if you are running low on credits.  I, thankfully, haven't had a bad transaction yet!

Boxing is a great way to exchange some of those common books that just seem to sit on your shelf because there's so many posted.  If you join you'll get a lot of offers right away.  You do NOT have to accept a bob offer if there's nothing on their shelf you want.  You can also negoitiate how many books-reduce the number you or they want.  Audio's are usually worth 2 books if they don't have an audio book you want.  Sometimes people do uneven deals if one person is sending a larger hardcover or tradeback.

I just became a boxer too but not having great luck with people wanting to swap with me.

I'm trying to add to my daughter's collection of BoxCar Children, and for my son - I'm trying to get a whole collection of Harry Potter and books with REAL Ghost stories.

Should I try to advertise this in the Bazaar?  Seems like the posts there are all 4 for 1 credit and my whimpy posts get buried.   LOL

Dawn

I just posted a big book of true ghost stories today! I can do 2 for 1 if there's anything that catches your eye. I am not a boxer but have been considering it.

done hijacking now, sorry!

I was looking for the 1st book of a series and wanted to do a BOB for it since it was very common in PBS.  I made 3 BOB offers for it and none of them responded. I gave them each about a week before making the next offer. So finally I put it in my signature line which book I was looking to do a BOB for and if anyone had it to check out my shelf and make me an offer.  Within a couple days someone made me a BOB offer and I got the book.
