This has nothing to do with Box-O-Books.

I was on the wish list for a boxed set of books. My wish was fulfilled. When I received my package in the mail, it only contained one book out of the entire set.

How do I handle this?

I would mark it "received with a problem" --> "wrong book".  Assuming the PBS listing is specifically for the boxed set, it's similar to sending a wrong binding, or wrong version of the book.  There are two help docs that are good here -- one for the sender, and one for you.

Does the ISBN # match? If it does not, then RWAP -- wrong book. If it matches then you must accept it and mark it received.

This is what the ISBN look like on the back: "SET ISBN 0-8028-4480-4". The PBS listing is for the entire set.

I will not be able to re-post this book, because the ISBN is not unique to the book; it is for the entire set only.

Then, yes, I would RWAP -- wrong book, and ask for your credit back. You can relist the book, but you would have to use a unique PBS ISBN listing (post without an ISBN)

I wouldn't mark it received as you did not receive the entire set...

I would probably send in Feedback and ask if it constitutes a wrong version or not receiving what is listed.

Even if the ISBN is on the book, it is still wrong if the listing says that it is a set. You do not have to accept it and mark it normally because the listing says its a set and if they sent only one book title will not match, which is a requirement.

On one hand, it is the wrong version of the ISBN, but on the other, you did not get what you requested at all. I would lean towards Christy's thought that you wouldn't mark it, yet you did receive the correct ISBN, author, binding, just not title so it seems like it could be wrong version too. I'd get the Team's opinion myself.

I would be curious to know if they had the other books to the set. Are they going to list each one of those the same way?

I looked up the ISBN that you posted, and it states in the description, that this is only a single book, not a set. Try looking at the book you received and see if the ISBN is the same as you have typed or if there is another number for the set. I'm curious now.

Sherry -- When I enter the ISBN, I get a description that specifies five books.

I don't know what you saw Sherry, but when I look at the description of the ISBN 0-8028-4480-4 it says it contains 5 volumes and lists out all the books in the set. The title even says The Christian Eclectic Readers and Study Guide which indicates more than one volume.

I also looked up the book using the posted ISBN and below is the description I found.  It clearly states that it is a "set of readers" and it lists the books in the set.

Book Description:

Consisting of Progressive Lessons in Reading and Spelling Mostly in Easy Words of One and Two Syllables

This trusted set of readers is designed to provide a Christian framework for instruction. The guide shows parents and teachers how to use the readers to train children to successfully defend their faith and their Judeo-Christian heritage. (Five volumes)

Contents: 1. The eclectic first reader -- 2. The eclectic second reader -- 3. The eclectic third reader -- 4. The eclectic fourth reader -- [5]. The Christian eclectic readers study guide / by Betty Burger.

I looked up the ISBN on Amazon and even the picture shows 5 books.

Personally I think I would ask for my credit back and then go buy the set used on Amazon - it's available as low as 99 cents and at least you would know you were getting what you wanted.
