I joined less than a week ago, and I am finding it very difficult to find information on how the website works.  I can't find any central place where there is info on anything but the most basic actions.

For instance, in looking around on the Box-O-books pages, I found a tab that said "Cancelled Boxes".   When I clicked on it, I found a list of my trades that had been cancelled.  However, the status of each trade was listed as "pending".  How can they be pending if they are cancelled?  I went to the tab that said "Pending" and found trades that were actually pending, but not the cancelled ones that were labeled pending.

There is no provision for changing the status of the cancelled trades to "cancelled".   Do these failed trades hang around in limbo pending for all eternity, do they drop off eventually, or perhaps eventually achieve critical mass, blowing up the entire website, or at least my account?

This question may have been answered earlier, but there are 3612 (now 3613) topics in this forum alone.  I don't think it is very effective to search through 3600+ topics everytime I have a question.

I have BOB transactions in my canceled tab dating back to 2006, so I'm guessing they just stay there.  They also say pending, but that's just because that was the status when the offer was declined.

I guess Pending is boxes that are really pending, and Canceled are boxes that were pending but are now canceled.

I have 2 transactions in my canceled tab as well, and both are marked pending as well.  I'm guessing that maybe it still says pending because you could go back in and request a swap with that same member again, without having to start a new transaction, but this is just my guess.

Jeanne, have you tried the Help Center?  If you enter BoB into the search box you'll get 10 links with info about using Box-O-Books.  There are even Tutorial Links.

Also, there is a Search feature for the Discussion Forums.  On the main Discussion Forums page is a link (right below the text box) that says Forums Search (and another link that says My Watched Topics)  Using the search word Boxer and the critera "Subject Only" I got 34 threads.  Of course, some people use BoB or Box-O-Books, so there are multiple ways to earch for BoB info.

Mind you, this is not to say you shouldn't have asked or that it was a problem at all.  Just offering up options you might not have realized were available.

Don't worry about asking a question that might have been asked before. People here are kind and generous with information. Besides, the question you ask today may be on someone else's mind, too. I gave up trying to search the archives ages ago. If it doesn't show on the first page or two, it doesn't hurt to ask it again . . .
