I have really liked Lewis Nordan (some books better than others) but I rather wish I hadn't read this memoir. The chapters about growing up and the first years of his marriage were the best but then he just became a pretty despicable human being. I realize that this was not a novel and was generally true to his life but I rather wish I didn't know all of this about him. The book does reflect his continued good writing though.
