Confusion in my wl.  Picked up a book at Hastings over the weekend.  Called "The Tudor Wife" by EMILY Purdy.  9781847561947.  Cheap, cover's prettysurprise-and it's a Tudor(my personal  downfall)....started it.  Sounded really familiar.... it is-It looks to be the same book as "The Boleyn Bride" by BRANDY Purdy-9780758238443.  It's on my TBR shelves.....

Question is this-is it also the same book by Brady Purdy called "Vengance is Mine" that's on my wl.  ?  Anyone been caught in the same boat?

Is there a way to look it up?  There's no reviews of any of the books here on PBS.

TIA

Jan

They are all the same. Vengeance is Mine is the original version and self-pubbed. The Boleyn Wife is the new title given it by Kensington when they picked it up for mainstream publishing. Supposedly it has gone through some editing, but I had both copies to compare and didn't see much that had been changed. The Tudor Wife by Emily Purdy is the UK edition with a UK publisher who decided she need a UK-ish kind of name to appeal to UK readers. From the reviews at Amazon UK the name change didn't work all that well...

Yes, Jan -- many of us have been in the same boat. We had a discussion here awhile ago about those pesky title changes -- US publishers don't like the UK titles and vice-versa. And generally, unless some kind soul on Amazon (or here) alerts other readers, many of us muddle about in confusion!

I forgot to mention that you might want to check Goodreads, as with volunteer librarians it is easier to get multiple editions combined. Go to the book and click on all editions and you'll see this, http://www.goodreads.com/work/editions/2471083

Trying to get Amazon to combine them is damned near impossible...

Thank you guys.  See, knew I should come to the experts first!  Off to list one of them on my shelf-and...more importantly ...free up wl room with the removal of "Vengance".

Been meaning to check out goodreads.....I'll do that too.
