In the past I have found Malladi's novels to be somewhat of the formulaic variety and not quite up to my admittedly highbrow standards. Not so this one. Where this could have veered into the maudlin realm, it managed to maintain its integrity. It tells the story of one woman who was a victim of the Bhopaul gas leak in 1984 and it's lasting consequences. The ending made me cry!
