There is a dragon terrorizing the Highlands of Ballybliss. One night they decide to give their own dragon-doubting vigin Gwendolyn Wilder to the dragon to hopefully sate the dragon. And its amazing what a woman can do when she puts her mind to it, even if she is the prisoner of a dragon. So dont think that Gwendolyn is going down without a fight. I am sure you will love this book as I have.

This is one of Medeiros better books. I really liked the mystery of the "dragon" and she draws you into the story quite well! Stayed up way too late finishing it.

The Dragon of Weyrcraig had been prowling the crumbling ruins of Castle Weyrcraig for so long he could no longer remember if he was man or beast. Then one stormy night the superstitious Highlanders of Ballybliss decided to leave a helpless virgin bound to a stake in the castle courtyard to satisfy his insatiable appetites. Soon he found himself stealing into the moonlit tower just to watch her sleep...
A delightful fairy tale romance.

The mysterious Dragon of Weyrcraig Castle has once again demanded the villagers at Ballybliss provide him with food and whiskey. But this time he also wants gold. Since the villagers don't have any gold, they decide a virgin sacrifice will have to do. So, they stake Gwendolyn Wilder in the castle courtyard, hoping she will satisfy the Dragon's appetite. Gwen soon finds herself a prisoner to the Dragon, a man who treats her like a princess, but keeps to the shadows so she cannot see his face.
Cute fairytale romance. After Gwen realizes the Dragon is a mortal man, she stands up to him and defends the people of her village who wronged him. She isn't afraid of him, which intrigues him. The Dragon has truly never met a woman like her. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

One of my new favorite books! Great fun to read, highly recommended!
Great story
I think this is my favorite Teresa Medeiros book of the four I have read. It is marginally based on the beauty and the beast premise: the hero is posing as a dragon to scare his mid-18th century village into confessing to a terrible crime; the heroine a virgin given to the "dragon" as a sacrifice.
While I thought her family and the village treated Gwendolyn horribly and made you question why she would be at all loyal to them, Medeiros does establish an interesting heroine and a unique hero whom she never sees for the first half of the book.
The romance is nice, some steamy love scenes, a good secondary character in the mix. I liked that while Gwendolyn is only 24 years old, she is considered very long in the tooth, where most women (girls) are married in their mid-teens.
3.5 stars

Ok read.
Sweet romance. A little tame but sometimes that nice too.
A wonderful enchanting fairy tale of love and revenge.
I liked the heroine
This is a truly enchanting story. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
Another enjoyable Medeiros book.
Fun read, nice to have a not so skinny heroine.
Very nice Scottish historical romance.
kept prisoner to keep her from revealing his secrets...he falls in love with her...but will she love him....
One of my favorite "keepers" WONDERFUL!
Wonderful!
Bold beauty offered as sacrifice to Scottish dragon. Classic Medeiros.
A humorous beauty and the beast type of story set in the highlands.
worth the read
Historical romance; I enjoyed it. :)
another great read for period romance readers
A great read!
Scottish romance circa 1745 - The villagers tie Gwendolyn Wilder to a pole as a virgin sacrifice to the Dragon of Wercraig. The dragon is really a laird (hiding). Of course, they fall in love.
Fairy Tale romance..
