When Nicolette de Montelan falls in love with Gerald de Grave, there's no hope, but even so, they make love and Nicolette becomes pregnant. Don't read this book for hot scenes--they are fairly tame.
However, the stories themselves are a lot of fun. The "plots" were entertaining and different. There are three very different yet strong female leads, without being completely unrealistic. (Ok, they are probably unrealistic, but they weren't so far out of middle age women that I couldn't suspend disbelief to enjoy them).
Entertainingly, amusing, happy-ever-after, variety of leads. Just a fun bit of fluff!
