Dorothy Cannell's 11th book but the first one I've ever read. I really enjoyed the gothic, old-fashioned mystery and will definately read more by Cannell. Ellie Haskell gets a phone call from the "bridesmaids" to come and visit and that her grandmother Sophia wants to talk to her. The only problem is that her grandmother is dead and the bridemaids live in Sophia's house that was left to them. Upon Ellie's arrival she is faced with a picture of her grandmother Sophia who she looks exactly like. Follow the mystery and find out why she smells her grandmothers perfume on the way to her guest room. Very nicely written and a pleasure to read on a snowy afternoon.
