An interesting and different view of Hollywood and the kind of people who live and work there.

Unlike many books on Hollywood, this is an entertaining read with no tirades about people the author didn't like.

Doesn't really hold up. I had remembered this book and "The Moon's a Balloon" fondly from reading them when I was in my 20's. The re-read today doesn't satisfy - where before, Niven came off as witty and sophisticated, now he just seems kind of mean and gossipy. The book jumps around quite a bit, as it's a collection of disparate memories of his time in Hollywood, and the vignettes are well-written enough, but there just seems to be little "meat". A disappointment.
