The Broken Vase - Tecumseh Fox, Bk 3 Author:Rex Stout New Introduction by Sister Carol Anne O'Marie — This was Stout's series with a Native American detective, written in the 40s. Who stole the d... more »ead man's Stradivarius - only to send it back? And what about the deadly duet featuring a stolen Ming vase and an afternoon cocktail laced with cyanide? Throw in an accompanist who plays all the wrong notes, a jealous sister straight out of Italian opera, and a chorus of suspects with a cacophony of lies and alibis. Suddenly Fox has to step up the tempo before the killer makes an encore - a sinister sonata composed in the key of murder.
An interesting mystery featuring detective Tecumseh Fox. A violin virtuoso commits suicide after a dismal performance. Was he driven to it by a nefarious killer? This mystery has a different feel than Stout's Nero Wolfe mysteries but I enjoyed it and would recommend it to fans of classic American mysteries.
