Bruce Michael Duffy (born June 9, 1951) is an American author. He is best known for his novel The World As I Found It, a fictionalized account of the life of Ludwig Wittgenstein, a prominent 20th century philosopher. The book won a Whiting Writer's Award in 1988. He has also contributed to Harper's Magazine, Time Magazine and Life magazine, among others.

Duffy was born in Washington, DC, the son of Irish-American parents and lived his entire childhood in Garrett Park, Maryland. He has two daughters, Lily and Kate.
