Has anyone read any of the books in this series?

The Four Bubbas of the Apocalypse: Flatulence, Halitosis, Incest, and... Ned

I saw the title and couldn't resist adding it to my wish list based only on the name. I was just wondering if the stories were as funky as the name or if they might have some interesting stories after all.

At first I thought this had something to do with this crazy movie I watched on Monster HD called Bubba Ho-Tep.  It starred Bruce Campbell  & Ozzie Davis as two old guys in a nursing home who think they are really Elvis and JFK and they have to battle a mummy that is killing & sucking out the souls of old people through their butts. And no, I am not making this up!

Bubba Ho-Tep is a great story written by Joe R Lansdale!!  It's can be found in a couple of collections.  The proposed sequel is supposed to be coming along, but Bruce Campbell is not in it, and I don't believe that Lansdale is writing it.  It's supposed to be called Bubba Nosferatu.

Bubba Ho-Tep is a good story. Sadly, I was disappointed in the movie. All the elements of greatness are there--Bruce Campbell, Don Coscarelli, Joe Lansdale. Somehow, it just kind of fizzled out, I thought.

Maybe my expectations were too high.

I enjoyed it, but I don't really have high hopes for any adaptations of things I like, so maybe that is why?

Okay, I just put Bubbas on my wishlist as well.  I think just the cover alone would be a great conversation starter during a summer bar-b-que.

I have to admit I did like it - even though it was more a black comedy than horror. I'd never heard of it before (or read the story) so I had no idea what to expect.  The plot was just so bizarre that I had to watch it till the end.  But I will watch anything with Bruce Campbell - he's always been a favorite of mine.
