This is the third book of the Cowboys series and it was a good book though I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two. There are 12 books in the series, in order they are:

Jake
Ward
Buck
Drew
Sean
Chet
Matt
Pete
Luke
The Mavericks ---Zeke
A Texan's Honor ---Bret
Texas Tender ---Will

From the back cover...

The freedom of the range, the bawling of the longhorns, the lonesome night watch beneath a vast, starry sky-they got into a man's blood until he knew there was nothing better than the life of a cowboy...except the love of a good woman.

Golden-haired and blue-eyed, she was lovely enough to make any man forget the past. Any man except Buck Hobson. For though she had more than fulfilled the promise of beauty int he fourteen year old girl he's once known, buck would always remember that back then he had been her father's whipping boy, helpless and abused. Well, he was helpless no longer, and now he would have his revenge by taking the old man's ranch and making it his own. The only thing he hadn't counted on was falling in love with Hannah, whose gentle sweetness could heal his battered heart if only he would only let her.

I enjoy just about all cowboy novels & this was really fine. It was my first Leigh Greenwood novel and I would read another book by this author.

Buck will have his revenge on Hannah's father by taking the old man's ranch and making it his own. But he doesn't count on falling in love with Hannah, whose sweetness just might heal his battered heart.
