Who do you add to your buddy list?  Do you add anyone who orders from you or you order from?

(Sorry, I know these are newbie questions.)

You add PBS people you like, people you'd like to order from again, people who have been helpful and who you might want to contact for more help, etc.

  1. People who are newbies whose shelf you might want to check out when you get a credit.
  2. People who like the same type of books you do.
  3. People who have answered questions for you.
  4. People you've grown fond enough of to PM now and then.
  5. Real friends you've made on PBS.
  6. People who enjoy the same type of swaps you do.

Any and all of the above and then some!

1.  People I know personally.

2.  People I have gifted credits to.

I've put a few people on my BL that post regularly on my favorite genre board.  Then I can check out their shelves or WL and know it's someone who's active on the website.  Instead of the person who just let my book request time out because they didn't respond.

People who live in the same town as me - neighbors

People who live fairly close to me - michiana (its a regional name for the area I live)

All my swap buddies, hostesses in games, friends I've met, folks that have similar reading interests. I haven't done the locals yet. I should check that out.

I use it for all of the above and for people I wouldn't order from again.  I use the buddy list tags too.

I buddy all my friends who join PBS, local homeschooling friends, homeschool friends around the country - both those who use the same curriculum (one tag) and those who "just" homeschool, and other people who have wonderful bookshelves!  I love the tag feature so I can keep them all straight!

Hi All!

I just can't figure out how to use the buddy list beyond "buddying".  How do you make a group tag and add people to it?

Yes, I need to take classes. :)

Paula, Go up to the Help Center, and in the Help Docs search window, type in "buddy tags".  There's a great document there called "How to Use the Buddy List," and there's a section in there on using tags that's really helpful!
